CCL3
-
Official Full Name
chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 3 -
Overview
CCL3, also known as Macrophage inflammatory protein-1α (MIP-1α), is a cytokine belonging to the CC chemokine family that is involved in the acute inflammatory state in the recruitment and activation of polymorphonuclear leukocytes (Wolpe et al., 1988). Sherry et al. (1988) demonstrated 2 protein components of MIP1, called by them alpha and beta. -

Protein Function
CCL3 has several biochemical functions, for example, CCR1 chemokine receptor binding,CCR5 chemokine receptor binding,calcium-dependent protein kinase C activity. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by CCL3 itself. We selected most functions CCL3 had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with CCL3. You can find most of the proteins on our site.
