Antigen Description : |
Low-density lipoprotein ( LDL ) is a type of lipoprotein that transports cholesterol and triglycerides from the liver to peripheral tissues, and enables fats and cholesterol to move within the water-based solution of the blood stream. As the prototype member of the LDLR family of scavenger receptors, the Low-Density Lipoprotein Receptor ( LDLR ) is involved in receptor-mediated endocytosis of specific ligands. LDLR recognizes the apoprotein B100 which is embedded in the phospholipid outer layer of LDL particles, as well as the apoE protein found in chylomicron remnants and VLDL remnants (IDL). In order to be internalized, the receptor-ligand complexes must first cluster into clathrin-coated pits. Mouse LDLR is a mosaic protein, and the extracellular region consists of seven N-terminal complement-like cysteinerich repeats, two EGF like repeats and six class B LDL repeats that generate a β-propeller containing a YWTD motif each, and a membrane proximal Ser/Thr rich region. It is indicated that LDLR is responsible for clearing 70% of plasma LDL in liver. |

Western blot: This antibody can be used at 1 - 2 μg/mL with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect mouse LDLR in WB. Using a DAB detection system, the detection limit for mouse LDLR is approximately 5 ng/lane under non-reducing conditions. Use of this antibody under reducing conditions is not recommendedDirect ELISA: This antibody can be used at 0.1 - 0.2 μg/mL with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect mouse LDLR. The detection limit for mouse LDLR is approximately 0.00245 ng/well |
Preparation : |
This antibody was obtained from a rabbit immunized with purified, human cell-derived, recombinant mouse LDLR / LDL Receptor ( rM LDLR ; Met 1 - Arg 790; NP_034830.2 ). |
Format : |
0.2 μm filtered solution in PBS with 5% trehalose |
Storage : |
This antibody can be stored at 2-8 °C for one month without detectable loss of activity. Antibody products are stable for twelve months from date of receipt when stored at -20 to -70 °C. Preservative-Free.Sodium azide is recommended to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%-0.1%). It is toxic to cells and should be disposed of properly. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. |
