Cat. No. : IFNB1-93H
Description : Human interferon beta (IFN-β) is produced in many cell types in response to viral infection, microorganisms, double-stranded RNA, and certain cytokines. IFN-β is known to regulate genes involved in antiviral, antiproliferative, and immunomodulatory activities. Endogenously expressed IFN-β-1a is a glycoprotein; however, nonglycosylated versions have demonstrated similar activities.
Source : Pseudomonas fluorescens.
N-terminal Sequence : Ser-Tyr-Asn-Leu-Leu.
Purity : >97%, by SDS-CGE under reducing condition.
Formulation : Lyophilized with sucrose and glycine.
Endotoxin Level : <1.0 EU per 1 μg of the protein by the LAL method.
Activity : Measured in a viral inhibition (CPE) assay using EMC virus on A549 cells. Measured in an interferon receptor-2 binding assay.
Storage : Store at 2-8°C upon receipt, preferably desiccated. Reconstitute aseptically in sterile 20 mM acetic acid, pH 4.0, to a final IFN-β concentration of 0.15-0.25 mg/mL. A carrier (such as albumin) is recommended if further dilution is needed. Store reconstituted IFN-β at -20°C (not in a frost-free freezer). Avoid repeated freeze-thaw.
