Species : | Human |
Tag : | Non |
Protein Length : | 491 amino acids |
Description : | The protein encoded by this intronless gene is an endothelial-specific type I membrane receptor that binds thrombin. This binding results in the activation of protein C, which degrades clotting factors Va and VIIIa and reduces the amount of thrombin generated. Mutations in this gene are a cause of thromboembolic disease, also known as inherited thrombophilia. |
Molecular Weight : | 51.500kDa |
Tissue specificity : | Endothelial cells are unique in synthesizing thrombomodulin. |
Biological activity : | Biological Activity :Measured by its ability to activate protein C induced cleavage of the chromogenic substrate, BOC-Asp-Pro Arg-AMC in the presence of thrombin. The specific activity is greater than 500 pmoles/min/ug. |
Form : | Lyophilised |
Purity : | >95% by SDS-PAGE |
Storage buffer : | Preservative: NoneConstituents: 10mM Sodium phosphate, pH 7.5 |
Storage : | The lyophilized protein is stable at room temperature for up to 1 month. Working aliquots stored with a carrier protein are stable for at least 3 months at -20°C to -80°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. See reconstitution notes |
