• Description: SentrinSpecific Protease 7 (SENP7) acts as a SUMO2/3specific protease. SENP7 is likely to regulate the metabolism of polySUMO2/3 rather than SUMO1 conjugation in vivo. SENP7 has a restricted substrate specificity, and displaying paraloguespecific isopeptidase activity. The Cterminal catalytic domain of SENP7 depolymerized polySUMO2 chains but does not have activity against polySUMO1 chains. SENP7 also had isopeptidase activity against diSUMO2 and SUMO2modified RanGAP1 (Ran GTPaseactivating protein 1) but had limited activity against SUMO1modified RanGAP1.
