Recombinant Human SCO2

Cat.No. : Sco2-170H
Product Overview : RecombinantHuman Sco2 was cloned from Human cDNA and expressed inE.coli. The protein consists of the soluble domain (aa 100-266) of the apo-HSco2SH, which lacks the transmembrane segment (NCBI accession NP_005129). Four additional aa (GSFT) are present at the N-term end of the protein. MW = 19.5 kDa.

Description : Protein SCO2 homolog, mitochondrial is a protein that in humans is encoded by the SCO2 gene. Mammalian cytochrome c oxidase (COX) catalyzes the transfer of reducing equivalents from cytochrome c to molecular oxygen and pumps protons across the inner mitochondrial membrane. In yeast, 2 related COX assembly genes, SCO1 and SCO2 (synthesis of cytochrome c oxidase), enable subunits 1 and 2 to be incorporated into the holoprotein. This gene is the human homolog of the yeast SCO2 gene.
Purity : >95% by SDS-PAGE. The protein was observed as a single band migrating at a molecular weight of >18kDa.
Supplied As : 1.0mg at 1.0mg/ml in 50Mm KH2PO4/K2HPO4, pH7.2, 1mM Dithiothreitol. The concentration is calculated from the absorbance at 280nm (e280nm =19035M-1cm-1).
Characteristics : Under the above described conditions, to avoid precipitation or protein dimerization, the product can be concentrated to a maximum of 0,7mM under Inert atmosphere.
Storage : -20°C. The protein is stable at 4°C for at least 2 weeks and at 25°C for at least several hours. After initial defrost, aliquot protein into individual tubes and refreeze at –20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/defrost cycles.
