Description : The protein encoded by this gene is a glycoprotein, belonging to the pentaxin family of proteins, which has a characteristic pentameric organization. These family members have considerable sequence homology which is thought to be the result of gene duplication. The binding of the encoded protein to proteins in the pathological amyloid cross-beta fold suggests its possible role as a chaperone. This protein is also thought to control the degradation of chromatin. It has been demonstrated that this protein binds to apoptotic cells at an early stage, which raises the possibility that it is involved in dealing with apoptotic cells in vivo.
Physical Appearance : Sterile Filtered clear solution.
Purity : Greater than 95.0% as determined by the analysis by reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE coomassie blue staining.
Formulation : Recombinant Human APCS at a concentration of 0.1mg/ml containing 10 mM Tris, pH 8.0, 0.01% Triton X-100 and 0.002% NaN3 and 10mM DTT.
Applications : • ELISA • MS• Western Blotting.
Storage : RhAPCS although stable at 14°Cfor 1 week, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
