• Description: Interleukin-13 (IL-13) is a multifunctional cytokine whose net principle action is to diminish inflammatory responses. Interleukin (IL)-13 is an important cytokine secreted from type 2 helper T lymphocytes. It is essential for modulating IgE synthesis by human B cells. Previous studies showed that polymorphisms in the IL-13 gene were associated with serum total IgE or allergic asthma.

• Purity: Purity Greater than 95% as determined by: Analysis by RP-HPLC. Reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE.
• Bio-activity: Human IL-13 is fully biologically active when compared to standard. The ED50 was determined by the dose dependent prolifiration of TF-1 cells and was found to be < 1ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity.
• Physical Appearance: Sterile Filtered white lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.
• Solubility: Centrifuge vial before opening. When reconstituting the product, gently pipet and wash down the sides of the vial to ensure full recovery of the protein into solution. It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized product with sterile water at a concentration of 0.1 mg"s/ml, which can be further diluted into other aqueous solutions.
