• Product Overview: Compared with Strep-tactin, Strep-tactin (type 2) further increases the affinity for Strep II labels and significantly decreases the affinity for biotin. Strep-tactin (Tactin 2) can capture low abundance Strep II fusion proteins in solid phase carriers, such as the coupled magnetic beads and the agar-gel microspheres, and show higher loading. For example, the coupled agar-gel microspheres can capture about 10mg Strep II fusion proteins per milliliter. At the same time, due to the reduced affinity of biotin, the coupling medium of this product can add 10-100mM biotin to the binding buffer for elution, avoiding the use of expensive desulfurization biotin, significantly reducing the cost.
