Recombinant Yeast Glc8p, His-tagged

Cat.No. : GLC8-4377Y
Product Overview : GLC8 Recombinant produced in Yeast is a single, glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 265 amino acids (1-229) and having a molecular mass of 30.7 kDa. The GLC8 is fused to 35 amino acid His Tag at N-Terminus and purified by standard chromatogrpahy techniques.

Description : GLC8 is a regulatory subunit of protein phosphatase 1 (Glc7p). GLC8 plays a role in glycogen metabolism and chromosome segregation, and regulates Glc7p activity through conformational alteration; ortholog of the mammalian protein phosphatase inhibitor 2. Under regular conditions, GLC8 triggers GLC7, but when GLC8 is over epxressed, it inhibits Glc7p function. GLC8 is activated upon phosphoylation by Pho85p complexed with four cyclins (Pcl6p, Pcl7p, Pcl8p, or Pcl10p).
Source : Yeast
Host : Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
Form : The protein solution contains 20mM Tris-HCl pH-8, 1mM DTT, and 10% glycerol, and 1mM EDTA.
Purity : Greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Physical Appearance : Sterile Filtered colorless solution.
