• Description: This gene encodes a vitamin K-dependent protein with key roles in multiple biological processes including coagulation, apoptosis and vasculogenesis. The encoded protein undergoes proteolytic processing to generate a mature protein which is secreted into the plasma. Mice lacking the encoded protein die in utero from a fulminant coagulopathy and associated hemorrhages.
