Description : | This gene encodes albumin, an abundant plasma protein essential for maintaining oncotic pressure that functions as a carrier protein for various molecules such as steriods and fatty acids in blood. This gene is primarily expressed in liver where the encoded protein undergoes proteolytic processing before secretion into the plasma. |
Form : | Freeze dried protein |
Endotoxin : | ≤5 EU/mg |
Purity : | ≥95% MONOMER |
Usage : | Buffers should be added to the powder without stirring, allowing the protein to dissolve over the course of 15 to 30 minutes. This product is most soluble in PBS, pH7.4 with 4mM sodium caprylate. Concentrations to 5% (50mg/ml) are readily achievable. The process for this product maintains sterility during critical stages of preparation. However, the final freeze drying step, while handled aseptically and sealed under a sterile hood, is technically not sterile. For animal experiments we recommend sterile filtration prior to use. |
Storage : | Short term storage of lyophilized powder or dissolved material can be stored at 4 centigrade. In general, and for longer term storage, this product should be stored at -80 centigrade until use. Numerous freeze-thaw cycles should be avoided. |
Storage Buffer : | Lyophilized in purified water with no additives. |
