• Description: Plasminogen activator inhibitor-2 (placental PAI, SerpinB2, PAI-2), a serine protease inhibitor of the serpin superfamily, is a coagulation factor that inactivates tPA and urokinase. It is present in most cells, especially monocytes/macrophages. PAI-2 exists in two forms, a 60-kDa extracellular glycosylated form and a 43-kDa intracellular form.
• Form: Lyophilized from a 0.2μm filtered concentrated solution in 20 mM Tris-HCl, pH 8.0, 150 mM NaCl, 1 mM Cysteine, with 5 % Trehalose.
• Bio-activity: Fully biologically active when compared to standard. The biologically active was determined by its inhibitory effect against single chain tPA induced cleavage of a chromogenic substrate in Imidazole Buffer at 37 centigrade. Half maximal inhibition against 1.0 μg/ml of single chain tPA was at a concentration of 1.0 μg/ml.
• Molecular Mass: Approximately 46.6 kDa, a single non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 415 amino acids.

• Reconstitution: We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Reconstitute in sterile distilled water or aqueous buffer containing 0.1 % BSA to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL. Stock solutions should be apportioned into working aliquots and stored at ≤-20 centigrade. Further dilutions should be made in appropriate buffered solutions.
