Description : | This gene encodes a 140 kDa protein that is stored in the alpha-granules of platelets and Weibel-Palade bodies of endothelial cells. This protein redistributes to the plasma membrane during platelet activation and degranulation and mediates the interaction of activated endothelial cells or platelets with leukocytes. The membrane protein is a calcium-dependent receptor that binds to sialylated forms of Lewis blood group carbohydrate antigens on neutrophils and monocytes. Alternative splice variants may occur but are not well documented. |
Molecular Mass : | The predicted molecular weight of Recombinant Human GMP-140, LECAM-3, PADGEM, CD62P is Mr 80 kDa. However, the actual molecular weight as observed by migration on SDS-PAGE is Mr 121-124 kDa, reducing conditions kDa. |
Endotoxin : | <1.0 eu/μg="" as="" determined="" by="" the="" lal="">1.0> |
Purity : | >97% by SDS-PAGE and analyzed by silver stain. |
Storage : | This lyophilized protein is stable for six to twelve months when stored desiccated at -20°C to -70°C. After aseptic reconstitution, this protein may be stored at 2°C to 8°C for one month or at -20°C to -70°C in a manual defrost freezer. Avoid Repeated Freeze Thaw Cycles. |
