Description : L-selectin, also known as CD62L, is a cell adhesion molecule consisting of a large, highly glycosylated, extracellular domain found on leukocytes. It belongs to the selectin family of proteins, which recognise sialylated carbohydrate groups. L-selectin acts as a "homing receptor" for leukocytes to enter secondary lymphoid tissues via the high endothelial venules. L-selectin is an effective marker for separating lymphoid progenitors from myeloid progenitors and hematopoietic stem cells in bone marrow.
Purity : Greater than 95% (determined by SDS-PAGE and HPLC analysis).
Endotoxin Level : < 0.1 ng per μg of rHu APO-E4 (1EU/μg).
Formulation : Sterile-filtered, liquid formulation. L-selectin is supplied in 50% glycerol.
Applications : L-selectin can be used directly as a positive control in Western blotting, ELISA, immunoprecipitation and other immunological experiments. The biological activity of this product has not yet been tested.
Reconstitution : Please Note: Always centrifuge product before opening vial. The lyophilized protein should be reconstituted with distilled, sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. For further dilution, carrier protein (0.1% BSA or HSA) should be added to avoid loss of bioactivity.
Storage : The lyophilized protein, though stable at room temperature for up to 3 weeks, is best stored desiccated at -20°C. Reconstituted protein should be used immediately or stored long-term in undiluted working aliquots at -20°C. For long-term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
