Description : Endonuclease 8-like2, also known as NEIL2, belongs to a class of DNA glycosylases homologous tothe bacterial Fpg/Nei family. These glycosylases initiate the first step inbase excision repair by cleaving bases damaged by reactive oxygen species andintroducing a DNA strand break via the associated lyase reaction. It hasnegligible or undetectable activity with 8-oxoguanine, thymine glycol,2-hydroxyadenine, hypoxanthine, and xanthine.
Form : Liquid. In 20mMTris-HCl buffer (pH 8.0) containing 1mM DTT, 10% glycerol, 0.1M NaCl.
Molecular Weight : 39.4 kDa (356aa),confirmed by MALDI-TOF.
Purity : > 85% by SDS - PAGE.
Concentration : 0.5 mg/ml(determined by Bradford assay).
