Description : | The encoded protein, a member of the tumor necrosis factor family, is a cytokine produced by lymphocytes. The protein is highly inducible, secreted, and forms heterotrimers with lymphotoxin-beta which anchor lymphotoxin-alpha to the cell surface. This protein also mediates a large variety of inflammatory, immunostimulatory, and antiviral responses, is involved in the formation of secondary lymphoid organs during development and plays a role in apoptosis. Genetic variations in this gene are associated with susceptibility to leprosy type 4 and psoriatic arthritis. |
Conjugation : | HIS |
Biological activity : | Bioactivity:The ED50 is determined by the Cytotoxicity Assay for Human TNF beta for dose-dependent cytolytic effects of serial dilutions of hTNF beta on the fibrosarcoma L-929 cells. The ED50 lies in the range of 1.0-1.6 ng/ml corresponding to 1.0-0.6 x106 |
Form : | Lyophilised:Reconstitute the lyophilized protein in sterile water to a concentration of no less than 100 μg/ml. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). |
Purity : | >95% by SDS-PAGE |
Storage buffer : | Preservative: NoneConstituents: PBS, pH 7.2 |
Storage : | The lyophilized protein is stable for a few weeks at room temperature, but best stored at -20°C. |
Sequence Similarities : | Belongs to the tumor necrosis factor family. |
