• Description: Interleukin 17 (IL-17/IL-17A) is the founding member of the newly emerging family of proteins, termed the IL-17 family. This family consists of IL-17/IL17A, IL-17B, IL-17C, IL-17D, IL-17E and IL-17F that share a conserved C-terminal region but different N-terminal segments. These homologous proteins are secreted as a disulfide-linked homodimers but have significantly different biological roles. At low levels IL-17E can be found in several tissues including the brain, kidney, lung, prostate, testis, spinal cord and trachea. IL-17E has been shown to stimulate IL-8 and induces activation of NF-kB.

• Supplied: Sterile filtered solution is lyophilized from 10mM Acetic Acid with no additives.
• Purity: >98% by SDS-Page and HPLC analysis. Endotoxin level is less than 0.1ng per ug (1EU/ug) of IL- 17E.
• Reconstitution: Lyophilized IL-17E should be reconstituted in 10mM Acetic acid to a concentration of 0.1-1mg/ml. Allow to set at least 30 minutes, rotate or vortex mix. Centrifuge for 1-2 minutes at 1000rpm to concentrate solution in bottom of vial. This solution can be diluted into other buffered solutions or stored at 4°Cfor up to 1 week or at -20°Cfor future use. It is recommended that a carrier protein (0.1% BSA or HSA) or medium serum be added to diluted material.
• Reactivity: Determined by its ability to induce IL-8 in human PBMCs using a concentration range of 10ng-100ng (will vary depending on PBMC donors).
• Storage: The lyophilized powder is stable at room temperature for a few weeks but it is best stored desiccated at -20°C. Reconstituted IL-17E should be stored in working aliquots at -20°C. Avoid frequent freeze thaw cycles.
