Cat. No. : | CTNNB1-1441H |
Description : | β-catenins are cytoplasmic proteins that are ubiquitously expressed. These proteins associate with E-cadherin at cellular junctions. β-catenin interacts with TCF and LEF transcription factors and is an essential member of the Wingless-Wnt signal transduction pathway. The adenomatous polyposis coli (APC) tumor-suppressor protein, together with Axin and GSK3β, form a Wnt-regulated signaling complex that mediates phosphorylation-dependent degradation of β-catenin by the proteasome. APC and Siah-1 mediate a novel β-catenin degradation pathway linking p53 activation to cell cycle control. Activating mutations in the human β-catenin gene have been found in human colon cancer and melanomas. |

Q&As (5)
Ask a questionYes, CTNNB1 is implicated in the development and progression of pancreatic cancer, with its dysregulated activity contributing to tumor growth, invasion, and metastasis.
Mutations in the CTNNB1 gene lead to the stabilization and accumulation of β-catenin, contributing to the development of HCC, making it a potential biomarker for the diagnosis and prognosis of HCC.
Studies have shown that CTNNB1 expression levels can serve as an independent prognostic factor in gastric cancer, with high CTNNB1 expression correlating with poor patient outcomes.
While there are no direct CTNNB1-targeted therapies available, various drugs targeting the Wnt signaling pathway are being developed and tested, which indirectly impact CTNNB1 activity in cancer cells.
High expression levels of CTNNB1 in breast cancer cells have been linked to poor prognosis and shorter overall survival, indicating its potential as a prognostic marker for breast cancer.
