Species : Bovine
Source : Insect Cells
Description : Nitric oxide synthase (NOS) is responsible for the biosynthesis of NO from L-arginine. Constitutively expressed NOS is found in brain (nNOS) and endothelial cells (eNOS), whereas macrophages can be induced by cytokines or endotoxin to express NOS (iNOS). eNOS undergoes several post-translational modifications, including myristolation and palmitoylation, which causes the enzyme to become membrane-associated.
Molecular Mass : 135 kDa
Purity : cell lysate 100,000 x g supernatant
Unit Definition : One unit of enzyme produces 1 nanomole of nitric oxide per minute at 37 centigrade in 50 mM HEPES, pH 7.4, containing 5 μM oxyhemoglobin, 1 mM CaCl2, 20 μg/mL calmodulin, 0.1 mM NADPH, 50 μM arginine, 12 μM tetrahydrobiopterin, and 170 μM DTT.
Stability : ≥ 6 months
Storage : Store it at -80 centigrade
Storage Buffer : 50 mM HEPES, pH 7.4, containing 10% glycerol, 5 mM CHAPS, and 100 μM DTT
