Protein Length : Leu35-Pro708
Description : Proteins of the matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) family are involved in the breakdown of extracellular matrix in normal physiological processes, such as embryonic development, reproduction, and tissue remodeling, as well as in disease processes, such as arthritis and metastasis. Most MMP's are secreted as inactive proproteins which are activated when cleaved by extracellular proteinases. The enzyme encoded by this gene degrades type IV and V collagens. Studies in rhesus monkeys suggest that the enzyme is involved in IL-8-induced mobilization of hematopoietic progenitor cells from bone marrow, and murine studies suggest a role in tumor-associated tissue remodeling. Form : Powder
Bio-activity : Measured in a cell migration assay using HeLa cells. 1 ng/mL of Recombinant Rat MMP-9 can effectively induce HeLa cells migration.
Endotoxin : Endotoxin level is less than 0.1 EU/μg of the protein, as determined by the LAL test.
Purity : > 95% (by SDS-PAGE)
Applications : FuncSt, SDS-PAGE
Notes : For laboratory research only, not for drug, diagnostic or other use.
Storage : Lyophilized protein should be stored at -20°C or -80°C. After reconstitution, aliquot and store at -20°C for up to one month, at 2-8°C for up to one week. Storage in frost free freezers is not recommended. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Suggest spin the vial prior to opening.
Storage Buffer : 50 mM Tris (pH 7.5), 10 mM CaCl2 and 150 mM NaCl.
Reconstitution : Reconstitute to a concentration of 0.1-0.5 mg/ml in sterile distilled water.
