Description : NativeRat Fgg prepared from fresh rat plasma using a combination of saltprecipitations and column chromatography. The protein encodedby this gene is the gamma component of fibrinogen, a blood-borne glycoproteincomposed of three pairs of nonidentical polypeptide chains. Followingvascular injury, Fgg is cleaved by thrombin to form fibrinwhich is the most abundant component of blood clots.
