Description : Luteinizing hormone (LH, also known as lutropin[1] and sometimes lutrophin) is a hormone produced by gonadotroph cells in the anterior pituitary gland. In females, an acute rise of LH ("LH surge") triggers ovulation and development of the corpus luteum. In males, where LH had also been called interstitial cell-stimulating hormone (ICSH), it stimulates Leydig cell production of testosterone. It acts synergistically with FSH.
Form : Sterile Filtered White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder. The LH was lyophilized with no additives.
Stability : Lyophilized Porcine LH although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution LH should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
Reconstitution : It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Porcine LH in sterile 18M-cm H2O not less than 100µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
