GGT1 is found on the surfaceof all cells, with particularly high concentrations in the liver, bile ducts,and kidney. Elevated GGT1 is a diagnostic marker for type of liver damage andother conditions related to alcohol abuse. It is used clinically todifferentiate between liver or bile duct disorders and bone disease.
