Description : Human Myoglobin is found in skeletal and cardiac muscle cells and is capable of reversibly binding molecular oxygen and enhancing the rate of oxygen diffusion through the muscle cell. Human Myoglobin is an oxygen carrier in the cytoplasm and appears to be responsible for the transport of oxygen from the cell membrane to the mitochondrion.
