Description : Uridine phosphorylase from Salmonella typhimurium (StUP) catalyzes the reversible phosphorolysis of uridine with the formation of ribose-1-phosphate and uracil.
Source : E. coli
Species : Salmonella typhimurium
Form : The UPase was lyophilized from 1mg/ml solution containing 25mM Tris-HCl, pH 8.0, 0.15M NaCl.
Bio-activity : 30 U/mg protein
Molecular Mass : 163068 Dalton
Purity : Greater than 95.0% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Unit Definition : One unit phosphorylates 1μm of uridine within 1 min at pH 7.3.
Stability : Lyophilized UPase although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18 centigrade. Upon reconstitution UPase should be stored at 4 centigrade between 2-7 days and for future use below -18 centigrade. For long-term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
