• Description: Fibroblast Growth Factors 21 (FGF-21) is a 23 kDa protein with 210 amino acid residues. Belongs to FGF superfamily, FGF-21 is related to glucose and lipid metabolism. Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARg) and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha (PPARa) regulate FGF-21 expression.

• Bio-activity: Measure by its ability to induce proliferation in NIH‑3T3 mouse embryonic fibroblast cells in the presence of mouse Klotho beta and heparin. The ED50 for this effect is < 2 μg/mL.
