Description : PPIF is a part of the peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase (PPIase) family. PPIF accelerates the folding of proteins. It catalyzes the cis-trans isomerization of proline imidic peptide bonds in oligopeptides. PPIF is key component of the mitochondrial permeability transition pore in the inner mitochondrial membrane. Activation of this pore is thought to be involved in the induction of apoptotic and necrotic cell death.
Form : PPIF solution containing 20 mM Tris pH-7.5, 10% glycerol and 1 mM DTT.
Purity : Greater than 95.0% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Bio-activity : Specific activity is > 120 nmoles/min/ug, and is defined as the amount of enzyme that cleave 1 umole of suc-AAFP-pNA per minute at 1C in Tris-Hcl pH8.0 using chymotrypsin.
