Description : MSRA (Methionine sulfoxide reductase, EC1.8.4.6) is ubiquitous and highly conserved. It carries out the enzymatic reduction of methionine-S-sulfoxide (MetSO) to methionine in thioredoxin-dependent manner. Human and animal studies have shown the highest levels of expression in kidney and nervous tissue. Its proposed function is the repair of oxidative damage to proteins to restore biological activity. The two known splice variants of the mammalian protein are located in mitochondria and the cytosol, respectively. MW = 25.9 kDa.
Form : Liquid. Supplied in 0.1M Tris-HCL pH 7.4 and 30% glycerol.
Purity : > 90% by SDS-PAGE.
Activity : 1 nmol of hMSRA will reduce 7 nmol peptide-bound Met-S-sulfoxide in 1 min at 37°C.
Usage : For in vitro use only.
Storage : Quality guaranteed for 12 months store at - 80°C. Avoid freeze / thaw cycles.
