Description : The protein encoded by this gene acts as a homotetramer to regulate cell growth. The encoded protein is an enzyme that catalyzes the synthesis of xanthine monophosphate (XMP) from inosine-5'-monophosphate (IMP). This is the rate-limiting step in the de novo synthesis of guanine nucleotides. Defects in this gene are a cause of retinitis pigmentosa type 10 (RP10). Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
Bio-activity : Measured by its ability to convert the substrate inosine-5'-phosphate (IMP) to xanthosine-5'-phosphate (XMP). The specific activity is >100 pmol/min/μg, as measured under the described conditions.
Molecular Mass : 61 kDa
N-terminal Sequence Analysis : Met
Endotoxin : <1.0 EU per 1 μg of the protein by the LAL method.
Purity : >90%, by SDS-PAGE visualized with Silver Staining and quantitative densitometry by Coomassie® Blue Staining.
Storage : Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
6 months from date of receipt, -20 to -70 °C as supplied.
3 months, -20 to -70 °C under sterile conditions after opening.
Storage Buffer : Supplied as a 0.2 μm filtered solution in Tris, NaCl, EDTA, Glycerol and TCEP.
Shipping : The product is shipped with polar packs. Upon receipt, store it immediately at the temperature recommended below.
