Description : Isocitrate dehydrogenase is an enzyme that participates in the citric acid cycle. It catalyzes the third step of the cycle: the oxidative decarboxylation of isocitrate, producing alpha-ketoglutarate (a-ketoglutarate) and CO2 while converting NAD+ to NADH. This is a two-step process which involves oxidation of isocitrate (a secondary alcohol) to oxalosuccinate (a ketone), followed by the decarboxylation of the carboxyl group beta to the ketone, forming alpha-ketoglutarate.
Form : Ammonium Sulfate Suspension
Bio-activity : Typically >1.0 U/mg protein
Unit Definition : One unit will catalyze the oxidation of one micromole of isocitrate and the reduction of one micromole of NADP per minute at pH 7.4 and 37C.
Storage : Store at 2-8 °C.
Concentration : >10 mg/mL
