• Bio-activity: This antigen was inactivated using gamma irradiation. Effectiveness is defined as the inability of an inactivated virus preparation to produce CPE after five days of incubation on a BSC-1 monolayer.
• Applications: This antigen preparation should be sonicated immediately prior to use to ensure that the preparation is uniform. This preparation may be used as is in a variety of immunoassay formats or may be further purified to meet the needs of a particular assay format. Grade 2 antigen is widely used for both IgG and IgM detection in assays which include EIA with polystyrene and latex solid phases.
• Stability: The product will be expired one year after receiving if stored properly.
• Storage: Keep it at 4ºC if used within a month. For long term storage, split it into small aliquots and keep at -80ºC. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
• Warning: This material has been inactivated and should contain no infectious material. However, this material should still be handled with caution as potentially hazardous.
