Tag : His
Description : Treponema pallidum is a gram-negative spirochaete bacterium and is considered to be metabolically crippled. There are at least four known subspecies: T. pallidum pallidum, T. pallidum pertenue, T. pallidum carateum and T. pallidum endemicum. The helical structure of T. pallidum pallidum allows it to move in a corkscrew motion through viscous mediums such as mucus. Treponema pallidum sub sp. pallidum has one of the smallest bacterial genomes at 1.14 million base pairs (Mb) and has limited metabolic capabilities, reflecting its adaptation through genome reduction to the rich environment of mammalian tissue.
Form : Sterile Filtered White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder. Lyophilized from 1mg/ml in 20mM sodium carbonate pH-10.
Molecular Mass : 16.4kDa
Purity : Greater than 95.0% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Usage : The products are furnished for LABORATORY RESEARCH USE ONLY. They may not be used as drugs, agricultural or pesticidal products, food additives or household chemicals.
Stability : Treponema p17 although stable at room temperature for 4 weeks, should be stored below -18°C. Please prevent freeze thaw cycles.
Solubility : It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Treponema p17 in sterile 18M-cm H2O not less than 100µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
