Recombinant Streptomyces avidinii Streptavidin
Cat.No. : | Streptavidin-2938S |
Product Overview : | Streptomyces avidinii was first isolated from the broth culture of Streptomyces avidinii as a biotin binding protein. Similar to Avidin, streptavidin consists of four identical subunits in a tetramer, each of which can bind biotin, that is, one molecule of streptavidin can bind four molecules of biotin, and the binding force is very high (Kd~10-15). Compared with avidin, streptavidin has a low isoelectric point and does not contain a sugar group, so its non-specific binding is much lower than that of avidin when used in antigen-antibody detection systems. |
