• Description: ll3 is ahematopoietic growth factor that promotes the survival, differentiation andproliferation of committed progenitor cells of the megakaryocyte,granulocyte-macrophage, erythroid, eosinophil, basophil and mast celllineages. Produced by T cells, mast cells and eosinophils, ll3 enhancesthrombopoieses, phagocytosis, and antibody-mediated cellular cytotoxicity.Its ability to activate monocytes suggests that ll3 may have additionalimmunoregulatory roles. Many of the ll3 activities depend upon co-stimulationwith other cytokines. ll3 is species-specific, variably glycosylatedcytokine.
