• Description: Il6 is an important proinflammatory andimmunoregulatory cytokine expressed by various cells. Il6 has been shown toinhibit the growth of early stage and to promote the proliferation ofadvanced stage melanoma cells in vitro.

• Biological Activity: >1 x108units/mg. Bioactivity is determined in a dose responseproliferation assay of B9 hybridoma cells as measured by the reduction ofMTS. Mouse Il6 is active at 0.1 to 10 ng/ml for most in vitro applications.Optimal concentration for individual application should be determined by adose response assay.

Stock solutions shouldbe apportioned into working aliquots and stored at ≤-20°C.Further dilution should be made in medium or buffered solution containingcarrier protein, such as PBS with 0.1% BSA.
