Description : |
Il6 is an important proinflammatory andimmunoregulatory cytokine expressed by various cells. Il6 has been shown toinhibit the growth of early stage and to promote the proliferation ofadvanced stage melanoma cells in vitro. |
Form : |
Lyophilized from asterile filtered solution of PBS, pH 7.4. |
Purity : |
>95% asdetermined by SDS-PAGE. |
Molecular Weight : |
~20 kDa |
Biological Activity : |
>1 x108units/mg. Bioactivity is determined in a dose responseproliferation assay of B9 hybridoma cells as measured by the reduction ofMTS. Mouse Il6 is active at 0.1 to 10 ng/ml for most in vitro applications.Optimal concentration for individual application should be determined by adose response assay. |
Endotoxin : |
<1 ng/μg |
Reconstitution : |
Werecommend that the vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring thecontents to the bottom. Lyophilized mouse Il6 may be reconstituted in H2Oto 0.1 mg/ml to obtain a 0.0125M PBS final solution. Stock solutions shouldbe apportioned into working aliquots and stored at ≤-20°C.Further dilution should be made in medium or buffered solution containingcarrier protein, such as PBS with 0.1% BSA. |
Storage : |
Lyophilizedm Il6 should be stored at ≤+4°C, preferably desiccated. Store reconstitutedm Il6 at ≤-20°C. Keepfreeze-thaw cycles to a minimum. |
