Ighg antibodies are involved in predominantly the secondaryimmune response. The presence of specific Ighg,in general, corresponds to maturation of the antibody response. It also playsan important role in Antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity(ADCC) andIntracellular antibody-mediated proteolysis, in which it binds to TRIM21 (thereceptor with greatest affinity to IgG in humans) in order to direct markedvirions to the proteasome in the cytosol.
