Ighg antibodies are involved in predominantly the secondaryimmune response. The presence of specific Ighg,in general, corresponds to maturation of the antibody response. It plays animportant role in Antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC) andIntracellular antibody-mediated proteolysis, in which it binds to TRIM21 (thereceptor with greatest affinity to Ighg inhumans) in order to direct marked virions to the proteasome in the cytosol.
