Description : Galactocerebrosidase (GALC) is also known as GALCERase, Galactocerebroside beta-galactosidase, Galactosylceramidase and Galactosylceramide beta-galactosidase, which belongs to the glycosyl hydrolase 59 family. Galactocerebrosidase / GALC hydrolyzes the galactose ester bonds of galactosylceramide, galactosylsphingosine, lactosylceramide, and monogalactosyldiglyceride. GALC with very low activity responsible for the lysosomal catabolism of galactosylceramide, a major lipid in myelin, kidney and epithelial cells of small intestine and colon. Defects in Galc are the cause of the "twitcher" phenotype.
Source : HEK293
Species : Mouse
Tag : His&Myc
Form : Lyophilized from 0.22 μm filtered solution in 50 mM MES, pH 6.5 with 100 mM NaCl. Normally Mannitol or Trehalose are added as protectants before lyophilization.
Endotoxin : Less than 1.0 EU per μg of the Mouse Galactocerebrosidase /GALC by the LAL method.
Purity : >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Storage : Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. No activity loss was observed after storage at:In lyophilized state for 1 year (4oC); After reconstitution under sterile conditions for 3 months (-70oC).
