• Description: WNT1 inducible signaling pathway protein 1, also known as WISP1 is a cysteine-rich, secreted factor belonging to the CCN family which is associated with the extracellular matrix, and can interact with cellular integrins. WISP-1 promotes mesenchymal cell proliferation and osteoblastic differentiation while repressing chondrocytic differentiation. Therefore, WISP-1 plays an important regulatory role during bone development and fracture repair. WISP1 can also contribute to tumorigenesis.
