• Description: WISP-1 is a member of the CCN family of secreted cysteine rich regulatory proteins. It is expressed in the heart, kidney, lung, pancreas, placenta, ovary, small intestine and spleen. WISP-1 is a beta catenin regulated protein that can contribute to tumorigenesis and has also been shown to play a role in bone development and fracture repair. Human WISP-1 is a 38.1 kDa protein containing 346 amino acid residues. It is composed of four distinct structural domains (modules); the IGF binding protein (IGFBP) domain, the von Willebrand Factor C (VWFC) domain, the thrombospondin type-1 repeat (TSP type-1) domain, and a C-terminal cystine knot-like (CTCK) domain.

• Purity: >98% by SDS-Page and HPLC analysis. Endotoxin level is less than 0.1ng per ug (1EU/ug) of protein.
• Reconstitution: Lyophilized material should be reconstituted in water to a concentration of 0.1-1mg/ml. Allow to set at least 30 minutes at 4°C, mix well. If desired, tighten cap and centrifuge for 1 minute at 1000rpm to concentrate material in vial. This solution can be diluted into other buffered solutions or stored at 4°Cfor up to 1 week or at -20°Cfor future use.
• Activity: The ED₅₀was determined by the dose-dependant proliferation of the MCF-7 cell line. The expected ED₅₀for this effect is 1-3 g/ml.
• Storage: The lyophilized powder is stable at room temperature for a few weeks but it is best stored desiccated at -20°C. Reconstituted WISP-3 should be stored in working aliquots at -20°C. Avoid frequent freeze thaw cycles.
