Description : Thyroid hormone-binding protein. Probably transports thyroxine from the bloodstream to the brain. Homotetramer. Interacts with RBP4. Defects in TTR are the cause of amyloidosis transthyretin-related; hyperthyroxinemia dystransthyretinemic euthyroidal; carpal tunnel syndrome type 1.
