Description : | Tyrosine kinase with immunoglobulin-like and EGF-like domains 2 (Tie-2) are novel endothelial cell tyrosine kinase receptors that are essential for vascular development and remodeling in the embryo. They are expressed almost exclusively in endothelial cells. Tie-2 is functional in pericytes and may play an important role in the progression of diabetic retinopathy, by regulating pericyte loss and influencing the activation state and recruitment of pericytes. Tie2 has been shown to be up-regulated in psoriasis and in breast cancer tissue and blocking Tie2 action inhibits tumor angiogenesis and tumor growth. |
Molecular Weight : | The predicted molecular weight of Recombinant Human Tie-2/Fc is Mr 100 kDa. However, the actual molecular weight as observed by migration on SDS Page is Mr 165 kDa. |
