Description : This gene encodes a subunit of the serine palmitoyltransferase complex which catalyzes the rate-limiting step in sphingolipid biosynthesis. This subunit metabolizes lauroyl- and myristoyl-CoA and generates C14 and C16-sphingoid bases.

Stability : The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. Storage : Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Store at 2-8 centigrade for one month. Aliquot and store at -80 centigrade for 12 months.
