Description : | This gene encodes a member of the sirtuin family of NAD-dependent enzymes that are implicated in cellular stress resistance, genomic stability, aging and energy homeostasis. The encoded protein is localized to the nucleus, exhibits ADP-ribosyl transferase and histone deacetylase activities, and plays a role in DNA repair, maintenance of telomeric chromatin, inflammation, lipid and glucose metabolism. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. |

Customer Reviews (3)
Write a reviewThis protein has high yield and good economic benefits.
Laboratory staff feedback that the protein is easy to operate, can meet the needs of the experiment, and has a good cost performance.
SIRT6 is highly expressed and can efficiently synthesize a large number of target proteins in host cells.
Q&As (6)
Ask a questionSIRT6 can participate in the DNA repair process by influencing the activity of DNA repair enzymes through deacetylation modification.
This proteinexpression of genes related to fat metabolism through deacetylation modifications.
Yes, SIRT6 has therapeutic potential. In tumor therapy, drug activation or gene therapy targeting SIRT6 may become a new avenue for treating tumors. At the same time, activators for SIRT6 are also being developed.
SIRT6 regulates the expression of specific genes through deacetylation, which in turn affects nutrient metabolism and energy balance. For example, in adipocytes, activation of SIRT6 may lead to abnormal expression of genes related to adipopocyte, which in turn affects processes such as differentiation, proliferation, and apoptosis of adipocytes.
Deletion of SIRT6 may lead to cell growth arrest, increased apoptosis, and genomic instability.
There are differences in the expression levels of SIRT6 in different tissues and cells. For example, in tissues and cells such as the reproductive system, nervous system, and immune system, there may be varying degrees of variation in the expression levels of SIRT6.
