Description : Recombinant Human Lipocalin-2 also called Neutrophil Gelatinase Associated Lipocalin (NGAL) belongs to a family of lipocans which include 25 proteins (including α1-microglobulin and β-lactoglobulin), which are characterized by their ability to bind small lipophilic substances in their hydrophobic core. They thereby serve as transporters of substances like retinal, biliverdins & prostaglandins. There are indications that NGAL is involved in modulation of the inflammatory response and is found in the plasma of patients after stroke.
Physical Appearance : Sterile Filtered clear solution.
Purity : Greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Single band on Western Blot.
Formulation : Lipocalin-2 (0.35 mg/ml) is supplied in PBS, 50% glycerol.
Application : NGAL can be used directly as a positive control in Western blotting, ELISA, immunoprecipitation and other immunological experiments. The biological activity of this product has not yet been tested.
Storage Conditions : Store at 4°C if entire vial will be used within 1-2 weeks. Store, frozen at -20°C for longer periods of time. Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
