LYPD1 preproprecursor is a 141 amino acids which contains a signal sequence (amino acids 1-20), a mature region (amino acids 21-117), and a propeptide (amino acids 118-141) that is cleaved from the preproprecursor. LYPD1 is expressed on postmitotic neurons in multiple locations, and it performs multiple functions. In addition, LYPD1 is a GPI-anchored protein.
