Species : Human
Source : E.coli
Tag : Strep II
Protein Length : 2-337
Description : The protein encoded by this intronless gene is a member of a large family of histone lysine demethylases, which use oxygen and 2-oxoglutarate to demethylate di- and trimethylated lys9 of histone H3. Derepression of genes by demethylases is sometimes involved in viral infection or carcinogenesis, so inhibitors of these enzymes are desired.
Molecular Mass : 40.8 kDa
Purity : ≥75% estimated by SDS-PAGE
Unit Definition : One unit is defined as the amount of enzyme required to produce 1 nmol of NADH per minute at 37 centigrade in 50 mM HEPES buffer, pH 7.4, containing 50 mM sodium chloride, 1 mM ascorbic acid, 50 μM ferrous ammonium sulfate, 1 mM NAD + , 1 mM α-ketoglutarate, 0.1 μM FDH, and 125 μM H3K9me3 peptide.
