Description : Human FSHB is a glycoprotein produced from urine of post-menopausal women and having a total molecular mass of 35500 Dalton. FSHB is a heterodimeric hormone consisting of 165 amino acids chain (non-active) and 115 amino acids chain (active). FSHB induces maturation of Graafian follicles of the ovary, promotes development of germinal cells in males and activates cytosolic tyrosine kinase. The FSHB is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
Biological Activity : FSHB is biologically active when compared to standard. The activity was found to be 626 IU/mg.
Molecular Weight : 35.5 kDa
Appearance : Lyophilized protein
Reconstitution : Reconstitute in H₂O to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml.
Purity : ≥98% by SDS-PAGE and HPLC analyses
Storage : Lyophilized FSHB should be stored desiccated below 0°C. Upon reconstitution FSHB can be stored at 4°C for 2-7 days. For long-term storage, it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) and store aliquots at -20°C or -70°C. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
Pathways : Biosynthesis of amine and peptide hormones; Class A/1 (Rhodopsin-like receptors); G alpha (s) signalling events; GPCR downstream signaling; GPCR ligand binding; Glycoprotein hormones; GnRH signaling pathway; Hormone ligand-binding receptors; Metabolism of amino acids and derivatives; Metabolism of hormones; Neuroactive ligand-receptor interaction; Peptide hormone biosynthesis; Signaling by GPCR
