Cat. No. : FLT3-1226H
Description : The predicted molecular weight of therecombinant FLT3 Ligand is 19.9 kDa, but the recombinant protein migrates astwo bands with an apparent MW 20 and 22 kDa in SDS-PAGE as a result ofglycosylation.
Source : Hordeum vulgare(barley grain). Barley grain exhibits up to 50 times less protease activitythan E. coli or mammalian cells. Barley seed is void of any human or animalviral contaminants that could jeopardize cell culture.
Species : Human
MolecularWeight : 20 and 22 kDa
Form : Lyophilized from a0.2 µm sterile filtered solution in 10 mM acetic acid, pH 5.0.
Purity : > 98% asdetermined by SDS-PAGE analysis. Purified product carries no pyrogenic orpro-inflammatory contaminants, as assayed with monocyte activation test usingHuman 10-plex Cytokine Assay measuring IL-6, TNF-alpha and IL-1betainduction.
Endotoxin Level : < 0.005 ng/µg ofFLT3 Ligand
Biological Activity : Determined by CellProliferation Assay for the dose-dependent effects of serial dilutions ofrecombinant human FLT3 Ligand on AML5 cells. The ED50 is typicallyin the range of 0.9-1.4 ng/ml.
Specific Activity : 1.11 x 106units/mg
Reconstitution : Centrifuge vialprior to opening. Add sterile PBS to the vial to fully solubilize theprotein to a concentration of 10 µg/ml.
Storage : Store lyophilizedprotein at -20°C and reconstituted protein in working aliquots at -20°C witha carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) as a stabilizer for long term storage. Pleasenote that the addition of any carrier protein into this product may produceunwanted endotoxin. This depends upon the particular application employed. Avoidrepeated freeze-thaw cycles.

        Q&As (7)

        Ask a question
How is FLT3 implicated in acute myeloid leukemia (AML)? 12/24/2021

FLT3 is frequently mutated in AML, contributing to uncontrolled cell growth and poor prognosis.

In which cells or tissues is FLT3 predominantly expressed? 07/08/2021

FLT3 is predominantly expressed in hematopoietic stem cells and progenitor cells.

How does FLT3 contribute to hematopoiesis? 03/15/2021

It is essential for hematopoiesis, particularly in the proliferation of early progenitor cells.

Are there therapeutic strategies targeting FLT3 for disease treatment? 08/01/2020

Therapeutic strategies include FLT3 inhibitors, showing effectiveness in treating AML patients with FLT3 mutations.

What is the primary biological function of FLT3 in cells? 06/27/2020

FLT3 is a receptor tyrosine kinase that plays a crucial role in cell survival, proliferation, and differentiation.

What role does FLT3 play in the proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic stem cells? 07/14/2019

It stimulates the proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic stem cells, guiding their development into various blood cell types.

What are the common mutations found in FLT3 associated with diseases? 04/05/2019

Common mutations include internal tandem duplications (ITD) and tyrosine kinase domain (TKD) mutations, leading to constitutive activation of FLT3.
